2023 Conference

We are beyond excited to host Dr. Whitelaw as our keynote speaker for the 2023 NC Audiology Association Fall Conference. She plans to conduct her keynote on the opportunities for our profession when we practice at the top of our scope and focus on functional communication. She will also be giving a clinically focused APD talk in the afternoon.
Gail M. Whitelaw, PhD. is an audiologist and Director of the Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic at The Ohio State University. She serves as the audiology faculty member on the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and other Disorders housed at the Nisonger Center at Ohio State. Her clinical interests are in pediatric and educational audiology, auditory processing disorders in children and adults, and tinnitus assessment and management. She is also interested in professional leadership development, supervision, and mentoring. Dr. Whitelaw teaches a number of courses in the Department including Pediatric and Educational Audiology, Pediatric Aural Rehabilitation, and Tinnitus.  She is the 4th year placement coordinator for the AuD program at Ohio State. Dr. Whitelaw is a past-President of both the American Academy of Audiology and the Ohio Academy of Audiology and the Chair of the American Board of Audiology.  She is the author of a number of articles and book chapters and co-author of Hearing and Deafness with Peter Paul.

Conference Cancellation Policy

In the event that the conference needs to be canceled or rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund will be issued to the registrants or the fee can be applied to the rescheduled date/time of the event. Registrants will be notified via email as well as social media in the event of cancellation. If the conference is rescheduled, registrants will have the opportunity to apply their registration fees to the newly scheduled date. If the rescheduled date/time is not convenient for the registrant or in the event the conference is not rescheduled, a full refund will be issued. Refunds are sent by check to the registrant’s mailing address in 2-3 weeks following cancellation.

Conference Complaints Policy

Should an attendee be unsatisfied with accommodations, education material, or any other aspect of the annual conference, a complaint should be sent via email to ncaudiologyassociation@gmail.com or can be communicated in person to a member of the executive board or conference chair. Any and all complaints submitted will be reviewed by the conference committee and forwarded to the executive board as deemed appropriate. The leadership team aims to resolve all complaints as quickly as possible and to the satisfaction of the attendee. Complaints can also be noted in the annual conference feedback form to be addressed for the following year’s events.

Conference Fee Refund Policy

Refund/registration cancellation request is due in writing 40 days before the scheduled start of the conference for a full refund. If a refund/registration cancellation is requested within 40 days of the event, the participant will be refunded the registration fee, less the cost of food provided at the conference. All requests should be sent via email to ncaudiologyassociation@gmail.com. Refunds will be issued as a check sent to the registrant’s mailing address within 2-3 weeks.
